Why does my knitting look holey?
Usually, it happens in stitch patterns that have both knits and purls in the same row. The hole appears when you bring the yarn to the front of the work as if for purling, then realise that the next stitch is a knit according to your pattern, and knit that stitch without moving the yarn to the back of the work.
How do you M1R in knitting without a hole?
Right-leaning Make 1 (M1R) — Knit Side
Lift the bar between the two stitches with your left needle, coming from the back to the front of the work. Knit through the front of this loop. It’s a bit fiddly, but this twists the stitch and prevents a hole forming.
How long do you cover stitches for?
You may need to cover your stitches with a bandage for 24 to 48 hours, or as directed. Do not bump or hit the suture area. This could open the wound.
