How long should stitches stay in nose?
Dissolvable rhinoplasty stitches are used inside the nose, and the length of time required for these stitches to disappear varies. Some nose job stitches can dissolve within seven to 10 days of surgery, while others require up to three months to disappear. Non-dissolvable stitches are used on the outside of the nose.

Lightly pat the wound dry and then apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly (e.g. Vaseline®). This will help keep the wound moist and allow it to heal faster with less scarring. Continue applying the petroleum jelly until the wound has fully healed. Open wounds heal more slowly.
Can I put Vaseline on stitches?
Keep the wound bandaged and dry for the first day. After the first day, wash around the wound with clean water 2 times a day. Don’t use hydrogen peroxide or alcohol, which can slow healing. You may cover the wound with a thin layer of petroleum jelly, such as Vaseline, and a nonstick bandage.
Should I cover my stitches at night?

You may need to cover your stitches with a bandage for 24 to 48 hours, or as directed. Do not bump or hit the suture area. This could open the wound.
What ointment is good for stitches?
Apply a thin layer of Vaseline (petroleum jelly) or Aquaphor ointment. We do not recommend Neosporin or certain antibiotic ointments, because in most cases it is unnecessary and may result in an allergic reaction.
Is stitch removal painful?
You may feel a bit of pulling, but it won’t hurt. It takes a lot less time to remove stitches than it does to put them in. And once the stitches have been removed, your skin will be fine! The doctor will tell you how to care for your skin after the stitches have been removed.
Can you take stitches out yourself?
In general, removing your own stitches isn’t a good idea. When doctors remove stitches, they’re looking for signs of infection, proper healing, and wound closure. If you try to remove your stitches at home, your doctor won’t be able to conduct their final follow-up.
Do stitches hurt when healing?
It is normal to feel pain at the incision site. The pain decreases as the wound heals. Most of the pain and soreness where the skin was cut should go away by the time the stitches or staples are removed. Soreness and pain from deeper tissues may last another week or two.
