How can I grow my hair while wearing a weave?
The Basics: Regularly apply oil or hair cream to your scalp and to your leave-out. We recommend applying coconut oil or Jamaican black castor oil to your scalp. It’s important that your scalp is kept nourished whilst your weave is installed in order to stimulate growth.
Why do sew-ins itch so bad?
If your hair is pulled too tight during the braiding or weaving process, inflammation of hair follicles can develop. When hair is trapped under a net or mass of hair for days without moisture, the scalp gets ridiculously dry, creating a spread of that fiery itching feeling.

“The recommended length of time to keep a weave in is two months,” says Charlotte. “Full head weaves and tracks should be touched up every 2 to 4 weeks. You should also leave a 2 to 4 week gap in-between weaves and it’s essential to have conditioning treatments done before, during and after your weave,” she adds.
Can you wash a weave in your head?
To cleanse your scalp and hair, concentrate the shampoo on your scalp and massage it in with the balls of your fingertips. Then work the shampoo down the weave hair, but be sure not to place all the hair on the top of your head. This step can cause matting and make your extensions impossible to detangle.
How long do sew in last?
A sew in can last 6 to 10 weeks we recommend you come to the salon for maintenance service every 2 weeks for a shampoo and 4 to 6 weeks after install for tightening. Matting, tangling, and dreading (which leads to hair loss) may result if you leave your weave in too long.
