How small can you embroider?
The smallest text we can embroider with any accuracy is about 0.20″ (5mm) high. We can make adjustments to your design to compensate for slight variations. Typically, a single line of text can only include about 20 characters and spaces before it requires the text to be split into two lines.
How small is too small stitches?

If walk stitches are the problem area of a design, it could be that the stitch length is just set too short. Try to avoid a stitch length of less than 15 points.
What is the minimum font size for embroidery?

Items that are decorated with embroidery like apparel and blankets require a much larger font due to the stitching process, so the minimum font size for embroidered items is on average 20pt.
Can you embroider with thin thread?
Yes, you can. The good news is you shouldn’t hurt your machine at all. The only problem you may find is that regular thread is a little thicker and it may pile up on you as you embroider. In other words, you may get more coverage with regular thread than you would with normal embroidery varieties.
Why are my stitches so small?
With the stitch length changing there are a couple of possibilities for you to investigate: Is the thread catching somewhere in the path to the needle and then coming ‘un-caught’? … That increased tension causes smaller stitches. Though usually, at some point, the thread will break.

Do bigger knitting needles make bigger stitches?
The real way to change the number of stitches that you knit in an inch is to change the needles that you’re using. A needle with a smaller diameter means that you make smaller loops when you wrap the yarn, and therefore you get smaller stitches. Likewise, bigger needles make bigger stitches.
What is a good embroidery size?
The standard size is 3.5 x 2”, with the largest design size of 5” x 5”. These measurements are the same for an embroidered design placed above a pocket.
What size should monogram letters be?
Many embroiderers who work with single lettered monograms usually use letters that are 1 or 4 inches. Stackable monograms are often measured at 3.5 or 4 inches. Spelling out names generally fall at 1, 1.5 and 2 inches.
